Skeletal remains which were previously thought to be artificial have turned out to be the real thing at an exhibit at the London Dungeon giving it extra creep factor. The bones which are thought to have been at the dungeon since 1975 now seem to be quite a lot older than the exhibition itself.

In fact Guy’s Hospital medical museum curator Bill Edwards thinks the remains of some poor soul which are a rib-cage and backbone were probably wired together in the 1950’s and since then presumed to be artificial. The curator will also be returning to see if a second skeleton hanging in a cage is also made of human remains. Apparently dungeon bosses are thought to be ’99 per cent’ sure that they are real.

According to the BBC, he said: “I need to go back and examine that one more closely when the Dungeon team can get it down from the wall. But from what I could see, it looks either human, or a combination of some human and some artificial parts.”

Because the first skeleton was found to be human, the London Dungeon must now decide whether or not they are willing to pay for a licence from the Human Tissues Authority which costs £2000 a year.

Spokesman Mark Oakley stated to TravelMail: “We had suspicions that these skeletons might be real, but it still came as a bit of a shock to have it confirmed. We have yet to decide [what to do]. We’ve even talked about giving them a dignified burial. We’re still mulling that. We’ll probably go and look at some artificial skeletons and see how good they are.”

Mr Oakley said: “The London Dungeon is full of secrets and we’re forever turning up surprises.”

They recently discovered that the Dungeon was near a World War Two bomb shelter, which was the scene of ‘quite a horrific tragedy’.
The skeleton remains were set to be used for the London Dungeon’s yearly ‘Satan’s Grotto’ exhibit however because of recent findings they will now be making sure they use artificial props.

The latest sequel within the Call of Duty first person shooter game series has been on general public sale since midnight on the 8th November 2011 and it seems that the hype and anticipation surrounding the release of Modern Warfare 3 created an atmosphere like no other console game has ever done before but it seems that with the demand for the game, came issues for Activision, the brand behind the Call of Duty franchise.

With the anticipation of the game leaving millions of gamers rushing to get their hands on their version of the game that was tipped to, and did, break sale records within the first 24 hours of sales but with Modern Warfare 2, the previous title developed by the same creators, selling 4.7 million copies within the first day, Activision failed to see the 9.3 million titles being purchased on opening day and that resulted in devastation within their new ‘premium’ option that had been freshly developed for the latest instalment.

Modern Warfare 3 Elite had been taunted as a new addition that was going to intensify the gaming experience of players that bought the MW3 title but with the additional features came a new twist that upset gamers across the globe, yet another yearly fee to be added to their account.

Charging a premium for what the company claimed was going to offer a new ground breaking experience, with clans and titles being more powerful than ever before, seemed to split the gaming community but that didn’t stop millions of gamers subscribing to the Elite offering from the moment that the game hit the shelves.

The result of the interest and the element of the unknown was gamers paying out a fee for a yearly membership into the Elite aspect of the game, only for the servers that Activision had powering it to fail and be unable to handle the demand that came flooding towards it.

The MW3 Elite servers were soon blocked to any user, resulting in backlash from angry gamers that were demanding an explanation, something that they were given via social networking site Twitter, being told that “A surge of new Elite registrations” were the cause of the problems, showing that the reception of the new element of the game had been well received despite the questions of whether Activision were right in adding yet another expense onto a title that releases regular download content at a price.

When players have tried to access the Elite servers they have been consistently shown the same message, telling them that traffic into the servers was at its ‘peak’ and that they should return to try again later.

With the Call of Duty franchise now valued at a huge £3 billion surely you would have expected Activision to have produced the game on servers that were capable of handling the huge number of gamers that they have had logging into their online section of the game over recent years, especially as they are charging for the chance to be part of the Elite section.

Activision have issued comment on the problems and have pledged that all those who have bought Elite membership will be issued with a further 30 days of membership once the problems have been rectified, possibly too little too late for any of the gamers according to the online gaming community with players claiming that they are set to turn the back on the title in order to purchase the game’s rival title, Battlefield 3.

There are many reasons why your train journey can be delayed at this time of year it’s normally caused by leaves on the line, however passengers travelling to and from Shepley in West Yorkshire found they were delayed because of a sighting of a lion on the line.

Reports from members of the public of the big cat or possible cub in the area caused the delays as officers searched the area using a police helicopter, train services were resumed after nothing was found. In total passengers were delayed for only 17 minutes before the search was stopped at around 3.30pm. Investigations into the incident were continuing, according to a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police last night.

Network rail also issued a statement stating that one train service was delayed for 17 minutes while police carried out the search. The spokeswoman said: “There were slight delays to services because of the alleged sightings of a lioness and her cub.”

According to Inspector Carlton Young, of West Yorkshire Police the search would be resumed if there were any more reports.
Passengers were kept up to date with the goings on with National Rail Enquiries stating on their Twitter feed: “Passengers are currently unable to alight from trains at Shepley due to reports by police of a lion in the area.”

It’s not the first time police have been scrambled this year due to a big cat sighting, in May Police received several calls reporting sightings of the tiger in a field near Hedge End, Southampton. A police helicopter was scrambled and a golf course cleared after a white tiger was spotted by members of the public. However this tiger turned out to be a stuffed toy!

Rescuers, have pulled a 13-year-old boy alive from the rubble of a collapsed apartment building early on Friday.

The boy was found over 100 hours after a massive earthquake had hit Eastern Turkey, destroying many buildings, and killing around 550 people.

Pictures showed Ferhat Tokay out of the debris, wearing a neck brace. He appeared conscious and to be looking at his rescuers. The rescue came 108 hours after the 7.2-magnitude earthquake, on Sunday.

The boy was injured. However, no other further details on the boy’s condition have been given. Tokay was rescued from a collapsed building in Ecris, the town hit worst by the quake.
As well as the 550 dead, 2,300 others have been described as ‘injured.’ As well as the dead an injured, there is also the homeless to consider. Thousands of homeless people lay freezing in tents, fighting against the harsh weather conditions.

Television footage showed a rescue team cheering and clapping as another young man was also carried out of the ruins, on Thursday. The mean was identified as 18-year-old, Imdat Padak. He was rescued by an Azerbaijani crew.

Emergency officials stated that 187 people have been rescued from the rubble, 2,000 buildings have been destroyed and 3,700 buildings are now unfit for habitation.
There have also been a number of aftershocks. Thursday saw a 5.4-magnitude tremor hit neighbouring Hakkari, which sent people out onto the streets. No damage was reported. However, some people were slightly injured when they tried to escape through the windows.

The three players from Jestrabi Lhota were sent off by a drunken ref for no reason at all. The ref had to be breathalysed by Police after causing calamity during the game which also included rolling around on the floor quite a lot of the time.

Apparently the ref Tomas Fidra had been celebrating his birthday before the game and reportedly ‘smelt like a brewery’. He spent the first few minutes of the game stumbling around the pitch before deciding to send off three Jestrabi Lhota players for no reason.

After spending much of the early minutes of the match stumbling around the pitch and falling over, the official then decided to send off three Jestrabi Lhota players for no reason.

An official from the Jestrabi Lhota club Karel Dusek told the Lidove Noviny newspaper that the boozed-up referee ‘didn’t try to hide that he had been celebrating’. He said that undercurrent rules there is nothing that bans a drunken referee from taking charge of a fixture which is why the game continued even though one team only had eight players.

In the end the game finished 1-1, the opposition, Tynec-nad-Labem, agreed not to attack their opponents after the bizarre dismissals by the drunken ref.
‘If we had refused to continue to play, we could have been sanctioned,’ Mr Dusek added.

However after all that the regional football authority annulled the game on the basis of fair play. The drunken ref who had a 1.94 per cent alcohol level in his blood is now facing a possible 12-month suspension for his actions.

Police in Ohio were tasked with rounding up wild animals after they were released from captivity by their owner, before he killed himself. A lot of the animals had to be shot by police because of the danger they posed to the residents of the local area, some of the fifty animals killed include 18 rare Bengal tigers and 17 lions.

The owner of the animals Terry Thompson had opened the animals cadges, he then committed suicide in what’s thought to be a act of spite against his neighbours. Thompson had recently been in jail on weapons charges and had a record for animal cruelty.

Homeowners in the area hid indoors while officers armed with high-powered rifles and shoot-to-kill orders scoured the nearby area including fields and woodland. 54 animals were released, 48 were killed by officers, six other animals, were captured and taken to Columbus Zoo they were; three leopards, a grizzly bear and two monkeys. Later on a wolf was found dead however a monkey is still left missing.

The decision by police to shoot and kill the animals may have not necessarily been a popular idea however there was the worry that if tranquilisers were used the animals could escape in the darkness before they dropped and would later regain consciousness.

The animals were released in Zanesville, which has a population of 25,000, local schools in the mainly rural area were closed and residents were urged to stay indoors along with their pets. Motorists were also alerted with flashing signs along highways which said ‘Caution exotic animals’ and ‘Stay in vehicle.’

Three officers in Houston Texas are being investigated after they allegedly at from a tray of pot brownies they had confiscated from a teenager. It’s thought that the officers tucked into the brownies after they arrested 19-year-old Nicholas Hill and two others.

The events came to light after computer transcripts which are kept by the city authorities were found showing the alleged conversation between officers in their patrol car as follows:
At 2.44 in the morning, one officer typed: “So HIGH…Good munchies.”

Another officer reply’s to him: “Everything should be open when we get done.

First officer again: “Two hours, max.”

Another officer replies: “Probably, but this will take the whole shift.”

Currently the teenager, Nicholas Hill is still facing charges of two felonies even though the incident with the police officers was highlighted by Hills lawyer. The kids lawyers Daniel Cahill and J. Julio Vela, investigated Hills claims, they told ABC news station.

Houston Police Department said it is taking the allegations seriously, however it is unclear whether the officers will face disciplinary action over the incident. Hills lawyer Mr Cahill commented that the cops should be hit with felony cases of their own, after all eating pot brownies that they found on the teenager they had charged would constitute felony destruction of evidence. He also said that the incident represents official misconduct.

The pot brownie eating incident is being investigated by Houston Police’s internal affairs department and the officers involved have been drug-tested, although four months after the event took place.

Dwarf porn star Percy Foster who had an uncanny resemblance to foul mouthed TV chef Gordon Ramsay has been found dead in a badger den in Wales in what reports are calling bizarre circumstances.

The thirty five year old star f X-rated movie Hi-Ho Hi-Ho, It’s Up Your Arse We Go was discovered in a badgers den, partially eaten, by Ministry of Agriculture experts who were checking the den ahead of a planned badger-gassing program.

The midget porn stars 107 centimetre (3’6″) body was discovered ‘partially gnawed’ in the badger burrow, however at the moment it is unclear how the adult actor died, suicide has not been ruled out by investigators.

Adult film producer Dexter Yamunkeh said “Percy was a little guy with big problems… He was doing well but was under pressure like everyone else in this god damn industry.”

In a recent interview Percy Foster revealed his pleasure about his growing career as Ramsay’s double, he also stated: “Porn lookalikes get more money than normal actors. Dwarf lookalikes are as rare as hen’s teeth and so can command top dollar. I’ve already ordered a new BMW and a diamond-encrusted Soda Stream.”

In this day and age if someone has been locked in aircraft toilets for rather a long time it can be taken as a threat, so when two passengers locked themselves in the toilet for “an extraordinarily long time,” two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to shadow the US plane until the passengers came out.

No surprising the suspicious activity was reported to be a couple who were getting rather amorous in the small toilet cubical. According to US TV network ABC officials told them that the unruly passengers were just “making out” on board the domestic flight from Denver destined for Detroit. The airline landed safely however SWAT police and local authorities searched the aircraft to make sure it was safe.

According to witness, Ilona Hajdar, of Michigan, ‘two men and a woman were escorted off the plane’. It’s known that the passengers were detained for questioning before being released without charge, but it’s not known why three people were arrested.

Belinda Duggan, of Michigan another passenger on board The Frontier Airlines Flight 623 explained the drama she saw: “All of a sudden, a SWAT team went through and saying, please place your hands on the seat in front of you.”

Sniffer dogs inspected the baggage that had been on board before passengers could collect it. There is a heightened security alert on all US flights after the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) issued warning around the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The FBI said that NORAD scrambled the fighter jets to shadow the plane “out of an abundance of caution.” But FBI Detroit spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said authorities ultimately determined there was no real threat. She said: “Due to the anniversary of September 11, all precautions were taken, and any slight inconsistency was taken seriously. The public would rather us err on the side of caution than not.”

A Frenchwoman has successfully sued her ex-husband for failing to have enough sex with her during their marriage, the woman’s husband has been ordered to pay her £8,500 in damages. The ruling came about after the husband who is 51 years old was fined under article 215 of France’s civil code, which states married couples must agree to a “shared communal life”.

The judge ruled that the law implies that “sexual relations must form part of a marriage”. This unusual decision came about after the woman filed for divorce two years ago; she blamed the breakup of the relationship on her husband’s’ lack of activity in the bedroom.’

A divorce was granted by a judge in Nice, southern France, which ruled that the husband named only as Jean-Louis B. was solely responsible for the split. After that the ex-wife then took her now ex-husband back to court for an extra €10,000 in compensation because of the “lack of sex over 21 years of marriage”.

According to the husband he had suffered from “tiredness and health problems” which had prevented him from being as attentive between the sheets as his wife wanted. However the ruling from the judge in the south of France’s highest court in Aix-en-Provence ruled: “A sexual relationship between husband and wife is the expression of affection they have for each other, and in this case it was absent. By getting married, couples agree to sharing their life and this clearly implies they will have sex with each other.”

Police discovered a four year old girl left home alone when they arrested her brother on suspicion of driving offences in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The mother of the child is thought to have been on holiday in Spain and returned Wednesday night. It’s not known how long the child was in the care of her sixteen year old brother however according to the law the mother won’t be charged because it is not an offence to leave a young child in the care of a 16-year-old unless it places them at risk.

The young girl was only found after the arrest of her brother, who was stopped with another teenage boy of sixteen in the Maidenbower area at around 1am on Tuesday. Police arrested the driver on suspicion of taking a car without the owner’s consent, according to Sussex Police. The other boy in the vehicle was held on suspicion of being carried in a stolen vehicle and child neglect and both have been freed on police bail until September 27.

Police said: “As a result of inquiries following the arrest of one of the boys, West Sussex Social Services have been informed by police that a four-year-old girl, known to one of the boys, was home alone at an address nearby. This matter is now being dealt with by West Sussex County Council.”

The child’s mother is due to be spoken to under caution however can’t be charged, Sussex Police stated: “It is more likely that she will be given advice. As a result of inquiries following the arrest of one of the boys, West Sussex Social Services have been informed by police that a four-year-old girl, known to one of the boys, was home alone at an address nearby.

Sir Richard Branson’s multi-million-pound luxury Caribbean home was destroyed last night by a fire which spread throughout the whole property. The Great House on Sir Richard’s £60million private island, was struck by lightning in the early hours of Monday, the region had been facing the brunt of storms from the 90mph Hurricane Irene.

The home built from wood and stone and which had visitors staying their including Kate Winslet and her children was quickly engulfed by flames forcing the guests to flee, many of whom were still in their pyjamas. According to Sir Richard about 20 people, including Kate Winslet, were staying in the eight-bedroom Great House on Necker, his private isle in the British Virgin Islands.

The guests were alerted and rescued from the fire by Sam Branson, Richards’s son, who had heard explosions coming from the house and raised the alarm he said the house was ‘completely destroyed’ by the fire. Sir Richards also said that Miss Winslet acted like a true Hollywood heroine as she swept his 90-year-old mother Eve who was staying in the house into her arms and helped carry her to safety.

Sir Richard, 61, was staying in another villa around 100 yards away with his wife Joan and son Sam said: “Around 20 people were in the house and they all managed to get out and they are all fine. We had a really bad tropical storm with winds up to 90mph. A big lightning storm came around 4am and hit the house. It took hold incredibly quickly, with flames 100ft high. It ripped through the house very quickly. Sam heard explosions in the main house and raised the alarm. He and my nephew Jack rushed to the house and helped get everyone out. Kate Winslet, her boyfriend and her family were there and Holly and some of her friends were also staying. My mother was there and they managed to get her out and she is fine. The main house is completely destroyed and the fire is not yet completely out. My office was based in the house and I have lost thousands of photographs and my notebooks, which is very sad. But all family and friends are well – which in the end is all that really matters.”

Sir Richard told ITV News about how Kate Winslet’s help during the fire, he said: “It was she who carried my mother out of the house. She said it was like being on a film set where you’re waiting for the words “cut” but they just don’t come. So it was quite surreal for her to be in a real-life situation. She carried my Mum out of the house. My Mum is 90 and can walk but it was more just to speed the process up than anything else but anyway, she was great. She swept her up into her arms and got them out of the house as fast as possible.”

Sir Richard Branson bought the island back in 1979 for £180.000 and he and his family and friends use the island, as well as renting it out for £34.000 a night too.
