Stacey Rush, the child’s mother, managed to snatch the drug from Lily, her daughter, (only 17 months of age) could swallow it. She then complained to the manager, but all that was done was that she was given a free Fruit Shoot to wash her child’s mouth out with.

‘He said it happens all the time and there was nothing he could do.’ ‘But if they knew someone was taking drugs in the toilet, they should do something about it’ Said Stacey Rush, 24.
Miss Rush, a mother of two, said she was sickened to find that drugs and tobacco had been left in a restaurant, never mind a baby changing area, and that she was horrified as staff initially refused to apologise.

She said: ‘I didn’t spot it but then I saw Lily had something in her mouth. When I realised it was cannabis I felt sick. It was all over the floor mixed with tobacco. What if she had swallowed it? There was no apology. All they did is offer a Fruit Shoot to wash the cannabis out of her mouth. I won’t go there again.’

Miss Rush, had taken her daughter into the KFC restaurant just before lunch, and took this opportunity to change her nappy.

She then that the cannabis was lying about on the baby-changing platform and that there was also some on the floor.

‘Goodness knows who left it there – it’s horrifying and sickening to think a mum had been in there rolling a joint while they changed their baby’s nappy. I thought these fast-food restaurants sent people in all the time to check on the toilet areas and baby changing facilities to make sure they’re kept clean. It doesn’t say much for their standards if someone can wander into a baby changing area and smoke a joint without any of the staff noticing. If my baby had ingested some of this cannabis goodness knows what it would have done to her.’

A KFC spokesman then retaliated with the following comment: ‘We were shocked to hear of this incident, and have spoken with Miss Rush to apologise for her experience. We take hygiene very seriously in all of our stores, and our toilets are cleaned every half an hour. We are currently investigating the substance to determine what it was, and have reminded staff at our Newbury restaurant to be extra-vigilant in the future.’

The fast food chain says that it is considering compensating Miss Rush. However, it has not yet informed the police, KFC say they will do if the substance is proven to be illegal.

A twenty year old woman is being questioned by police after her newborn baby was found dead aboard a cruise ship when it docked in Florida. It was discovered by a crew member in a guest cabin of the ship Carnival Dream on Saturday morning.

The Carnival cruise line had informed authorities in St. Maarten prior to docking and the FBI are now investigating. The woman being questioned is believed to be the dead infant’s mother, so she has not being charged. She is a U.S. passenger but not a resident of Florida.

When the liner returned to Florida the FBI’s Evidence Response Team was activated according to Special Agent Dave Couvertier and that the FBI was working with port authorities to investigate.

He said: “We received preliminary information of a deceased newborn on the vessel and we are investigating the matter. We have been coordinating with Carnival Cruise Line which has been fully cooperative. No one has been charged as we are still working on obtaining facts and gathering any available evidence. As a result, no information is being released regarding suspects at this time. Due to the international and jurisdictional aspects we are still working on obtaining facts and specific details about the incident.”

There are calls for Red Or Black winner Nathan Hageman to be stripped of his winnings after it emerged that he was jailed for beating up his former partner not a man as Hageman admitted. MP Hazel Blears said: “He should be stripped of the money.” Even though the 31 year old had served 2½ years for ABH.

Hageman had said he served half of a five year term for ABH after he attacked another man however it has been revealed by a court spokesman that he was in fact jailed in 2006 for actual bodily harm on ex-girlfriend Amy Edwards.

ITV are currently under pressure to strip Nathan of his million pound prize and have been locked in talks to decide what to do after he won with the spin of a roulette wheel on Saturday’s Red Or Black game show. According to sources the attack he was jailed for was described as a vicious beating.

MP Hazel Blears said of the situation: “It seems wrong that someone like him should even be allowed on game shows like this, and it is all the more sickening that he has won a million pounds. Domestic violence is one of the most horrible crimes, committed against vulnerable women and sometimes men. In light of his conviction, he should be stripped of his winnings and the money given to a charity supporting its victims.”

The dress worn by Kate Middleton for her wedding to Prince William is set to make £8million after a record number of people visit Buckingham Palace to see it, where it has been on display since July 23rd.

So far over 354,000 people have visited the palace since the gown designed by the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen has been on view. Experts guess that final ticket sales will total around £8million. The extra visitors this year has meant that visitor numbers are up 20 per cent and some of the proceeds from the display will be going to William and Kate’s wedding charity fund which is currently around £1million.

A lot of the profits will go to help maintain and restore the Royal Collection which includes the palaces, residences and extensive art collections. Thanks to the Royal Wedding there has been a general increase in the Royal family and this has seen ticket sales across its venues and sales of commemorative souvenirs increase meaning income has risen from £7.3million to £41.7million in the year to April.

A spokesperson for the Royal Collection said: ‘This year has been our highest to date. The wedding dress has proved very popular.’

French actor Gerard Depardieu was thrown off his flight in Paris after he attempted to pee into a bottle after being stopped from using the toilet before they took off. Apparently the Cyrano de Bergerac star was flying to Dublin on a CityJet flight yesterday when he needed to use the toilet before take-off. However after being told three times by cabin crew staff he had could not use the toilet before take-off and had to remain seated, the actor decided to get out of his seat and relieve himself into an empty bottle at the back of the plane.

On Wednesday a passenger on that flight contacted a French radio station and claimed the star stood up minutes before take-off and declared in a loud voice: “Je veux pisser, Je veux pisser.”

Police were called when the plane made its way back to the departure gate and they then escorted the Oscar-nominated Depardieu off the plane. According to CityJet staff the plane was ‘fit for purpose’ when it went back to the runway for take-off at Charles de Gaulle Airport. The airline confirmed that he plane had been delayed and it took off later than scheduled for Dublin without Depardieu, as well as an associate who had been travelling with the actor.

In a statement the airline, a subsidiary of Air France, said: “Flight AF5010, which was due to depart at 1845 from Paris to Dublin, was delayed due to an incident on board involving a passenger who refused to remain in his seat as the aircraft was taxiing on the runway. The captain returned the aircraft to stand where the passenger was offloaded.”

The 62 year old actor was due to fly to Ireland for filming on Asterix and Obelix: God Save Britannia, the fourth instalment of the Asterix and Obelix series which sees the adventures of two Gauls who resist Roman occupation with help from a magic potion.

The actor who has now arrived in Ireland to start filming which will continue for the next four weeks, his agent who is also in Ireland said he did not wish to comment publicly on the incident. The actor who is also a vineyard owner, has stated that he has not had any alcohol for the past two years and stated that all he wanted to do was use the bathroom, his agent claims the actor asked for permission from cabin crew three times but was refused.

After fake Apple stores in China, one furniture store is found with an uncanny resemblance to Ikea.

The world capital of knock offs could be Kunming in the southwest corner of China, after a travel writer found a fake Apple store in the area, further investigations by Apple found four more. Now it seems that the famous Swedish furniture company Ikea may also have been copied.

On the outside the store called 11 Furniture looks like any other building and not at all like an Ikea store however inside you will be able to notice striking resemblances. You will find Ikea’s blue-and-yellow colour scheme, mock-up rooms, miniature pencils, signage and even its rocking chair designs as well as the company’s signature its cafeteria-style restaurant, complete with minimalist wooden tables. Although the menu does vary from Ikea’s Swedish meatballs and salmon, serving Chinese-style braised minced pork and eggs.

Although it seems the store is not directly selling itself as an Ikea store a lot of the branding and styling seems to be a very close match. The name of the store in Chinese is ‘Shi Yi Jia Ju’ sounds very much like Ikea’s Chinese name ‘Yi Jia Jia Ju’. However there are some differences at 11 Furniture store the furniture sold is made to order, not flat pack like Ikea, plus some customers have also noted that at the real Ikea, the layout is much neater and the decorations are laid out properly.

In a statement, Ikea explained that it is consulting with lawyers over the matter. It said: “Inter IKEA Systems B.V, the worldwide franchisor and owner of the IKEA Concept, sees it as very important to protect the intellectual property rights. We have reported it to Inter IKEA Systems B.V and they are dealing with this matter together with their legal counsel. The best thing we can do to prevent such stores from opening up in the future is to open more stores and make the IKEA products available to more people.”

Most of the Ikea stores in China are in the wealthier coastal and southern cities and not in areas such as Kunming.

Girls as young as seven are being offered pole dancing lessons at a gym in Greater Manchester, which are advertised on the gyms Facebook book page. JNL Pole Fitness has been criticised by concerned parents and councillors for offering the lessons normally reserved for adults to youngsters.

According to the instructor at the dance studio the classes are fun, good exercise and do not teach their children anything erotic, in fact instructor: Jess Leanne Norris, 18, describes her pole fitness classes at her studio in Bolton as ‘art’.

One parent, who takes her daughter to the lessons, defended the studio and dance instructor, Jess Norris, Kate Eaton, 33, from Harwood said: “’Jen had her seventh birthday party there with her friends. She loves it. I do not have a problem with it at all. It is nothing to do with lap dancing, it is gymnastics. It is not in the slightest bit sexual. I have put pictures of her on Facebook because she wants people to see what she can do. We wear short shorts and vest tops so we can grip the pole and they are not performing in front of anyone. If she was doing gymnastics in a leotard or at a swimming gala in a costume, anyone could be watching and people don’t complain about that.”

Jess Leanne Norris, 18, who runs the classes, said: “What I teach is pole fitness, nothing else. I have never received any complaints. There is nothing at all rude going on at JLN. I have had nothing but support, it is an art. We only put pictures on Facebook with parents’ consent. It is nothing inappropriate.”

However concerns have been raised about the nature of the photographs being posted online, Executive Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Nick Peel, said: “In general, parents and organisations need to be careful about publishing photos of children on the internet. It is unsafe and people trawl the internet looking for things like this. On the one hand, I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but on the other, it is a dangerous world on the internet when it comes to children and people need to be aware of the situation they can be putting children into quite innocently.”

There was one mother who voiced her concerns over you children taking part in these classes, she asked not to be named but said: “This concerns me greatly as I would not want my 13-year-old wandering round in hotpants and hanging upside down. They advertise as being aerobics/gymnastics with a pole but if you see the pictures, you will see this is not the case. These pictures are also being posted across Facebook and this just invites child grooming.”

A dance teacher, who also wished to remain anonymous, added: “I think there has got to be a line that should not be crossed with children. Children want to do it and some parents will let them do it, but it could damage their developing bodies and that might not show now.”

Organised robbers used Facebook and Twitter to organise store raids, the group of men and women robbed a Victoria’s Secret lingerie store, using a ‘flashmob’ as their inspiration. ‘Flashmobs’ normally entail, people organising large-scale public dances or protests no robberies, however this is not the first time this has happened. Just three months ago another ‘flashrob’ team made off with $20,000 of goods at a DuPont store in Washington.

According to reports the group entered the high-end lingerie store in Georgetown, Washington, on Monday afternoon, distracting store employees before making off with products, ‘within seconds’ of entering, after co-ordinating the raid online. After the spate of robberies, other store managers in Georgetown, Washington, have expressed worry about the trend of ‘flashrobs’. The local police department believe the ‘flashrobs’ are planned on Facebook and Twitter, not long before they take place. The raiders enter stores filled with dumbfounded customers before blatantly stealing goods straight in front of store security cameras.

Lt John Hedgecock, from Washington D.C. Police, told Fox News: “They come in and they do it so fast – within a matter of seconds. What happened in this store probably lasted around 20 seconds. They go in, they distract the employees and they grab the merchandise, they are in and out. We have some information that they may be using some of the social media such as Facebook and Twitter to schedule an event if you will.”

Reports state that the robbery took place on Monday at around 2pm, where two men and two women entered the store with two baby strollers, while a small child distracted staff, allowing the theft to take place. The store owners said that the robbers showed no concern for store security, in fact they even ‘posed’ for the cameras in store, safe in the in the knowledge that the confusion of the flashrob means identifying them could be difficult.

Expert opinions on the brazen robbers state that they believe that young people get a rush from taking part in the ‘flashrobs’ and having the footage circulated in the media or on YouTube by police.

Scott Decker, Professor of Criminology at Arizona State University, told Fox News: “Young people are risk takers and seeing themselves on security videos uploaded on YouTube or the news can be a thrill to them.”

In the springtime of 1979, Arthur Gerald Jones, left his posh Highland Park home to run an errand when he vanished and was never seen again.

The FBI tried their best to solve the mystery and find out what had happened to him, but they never did. In 1986 and all leads in the case lost, an Illinois court declared him dead, and social security paid survivor benefits to his wife and family.

But in the later days of last week, the 32-year-old case was suddenly revisited when Jones, now 72, was found living in Las Vegas, where he had been living and working under the fake name of Joseph Richard Sandelli.

Last Friday, Jones was arrested and charged with four counts of identity theft and fraud.

Jones explained that he had a seat on the Chicago Board of Trade as a commodities trader, however, had been forced to sell his seat in order to pay off a debt incurred when he made a trading error. He then lost his job in the process and fearing what investigators have speculated may have been relations with the Chicago mafia, Jones decided to leave his wife, of which he had been married to for 17 years, and their three young children.

Jones explained how he paid a friend $800 to provide him with a fake identity. He was given a driver’s licence, social security card and a birth certificate all under the name Joseph Richard Sandelli. Jones told investigators how he moved from Chicago to Florida, and then from Florida to California. He settled in Las Vegas In 1988 and got a job at Rampart Casino as a bookie.

Esplin, his wife, said her former husband sold off his seat on the Chicago Board of Trade to pay off personal gambling debts. She then went on to give just one example where he bet $30,000 on a single basketball game. She explained how Jones had once forged her signature in order to obtain a second mortgage on their home, again, to pay off gambling debts.

She described her husband as “very nervous” on the day he disappeared. She has not heard from him since.

So how on earth did they come across Jones after all this time? It wasn’t until a man named Clive Good enough began having trouble with his social security number that the case was picked up again.

Finally, after a whopping 32 years, investigators eventually tracked down Jones and arrested him on Friday.

If convicted, Jones faces a minimum of one year in imprisonment. Jones has been released on $20,000 while awaiting his next court date.

The famous Jazz singer, Amy Winehouse repeatedly tried but failed to overcome her addiction to alcohol, particularly vodka, and hard drugs, including cocaine.

27-year old Whinehouse, was found at her North London home by her housemate last Saturday afternoon (23rd July 2011.)

The singer was believed to be in an emotional state and had been described as ‘devastated’ after splitting up with her on-off boyfriend, film director Reg Traviss. Reg has walked out on the drunken star after a blazing fight after he caught Amy on the phone to her jailed ex-husband, Blake. The star is then thought to gone on a 36-hour whisky, heroin and ecstasy session.

Whinehouse had recently returned from rehabilitation and was said to been clean of drugs for 18 months. It is thought that through stress as well as the powerful demon of addiction that the singer ended up returning to drugs. Just days before the star was found dead, she had been ‘booed’ off of the stage for being “out of tune” at a comeback tour.

Police are now considering the idea that Amy Whinehouse died from an overdose, deliberately. Friends have suggested a number of times that Amy Whinehouse “knew” she was going to become part of the “27 club” (a name given to a group of celebrities which have all died at 27 after struggling to cope with fame.) Amongst this group are music legends Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones.

Her body has not yet been released as police are currently performing a post-mortem. Her family will be given the results of the post-mortem examination today, meaning that the soul singer can finally be buried.

Although there are many rumours of Amy dying from a drug over dose, nothing yet has been fully confirmed by the police and no drugs were found inside of her £2.5 million house.

Amy’s mother explains how her daughter’s death still hasn’t “hit her” as it was only the day before Amy died she had seen her mother and told her “I love you, mum.” .’They are the words I will always treasure,’ she said. I’m glad I saw her when I did.’

Sources say the star died alone in bed, there have also been claims Miss Winehouse may have been dead for up to six hours before she was found based on a source telling the press: ‘Rigor mortis had set in, indicating she is likely to have been dead for anything up to six hours.’

A variety of fans and friends have left flowers, messages and photographs outside of her apartment. Twitter has received numerous tweets and the topic ‘Amy Whinehouse’ and ‘RIP’ have been trending on the social networking website over the last couple of days.

Russell Brand was one of Amy’s close friends some of his speech is included below:

When you love someone who suffers from the disease of addiction you await the phone call. There will be a phone call. The sincere hope is that the call will be from the addict themselves, telling you they’ve had enough, that they’re ready to stop, ready to try something new. Of course though, you fear the other call, the sad nocturnal chime from a friend or relative telling you it’s too late, she’s gone.

“…Addiction is a serious disease; it will end with jail, mental institutions or death…Now Amy Winehouse is dead, like many others whose unnecessary deaths have been retrospectively romanticised, at 27 years old. Whether this tragedy was preventable or not is now irrelevant. It is not preventable today. We have lost a beautiful and talented woman to this disease. Not all addicts have Amy’s incredible talent. Or Kurt’s or Jimi’s or Janis’s, some people just get the affliction.”

He concludes: “…Not all of us know someone with the incredible talent that Amy had but we all know drunks and junkies and they all need help and the help is out there. All they have to do is pick up the phone and make the call. Or not. Either way, there will be a phone call.”

Biz Stone is the co-founder of the extremely popular, social networking site, Twitter. Recently stone has been distancing himself from the rest of the Twitter team as he has decided to step down and work with some old colleagues (The Obvious Group) In a bid to find the next ‘big thing’ on the internet. Stone has been involved since the running of Twitter since it first started- 5 years ago. Since then it has gained masses of popularity and Stone has been the one keeping the site a float. However stone seems to think the Twitter crew and leadership team are able to manage on their own and has decided to take upon himself the role of advisor and to “keep out of the way until he is called upon for some specific use.”

Stone is not the only member of the crew to be leaving, Evan Williams, who stepped down from the post last October and has also been acting as and ‘advisor’,’ has also notify the team that he is leaving completely and will be joining Stone in his work with The Obvious Group. Many people would like to invest in the project, as Twitter is believed to be worth £4.9 billion and another other project like it would definitely be worth investing in!

Twitter will carry on regardless of the loss of Stone as the ever-so-popular (200 million registered accounts and 2,200 tweets ever second) does not want to disappoint its users.
