Actress Lindsay Lohan, 24 was arrested in 2007 for drink driving offence. The star spent a diminutive 84 minutes in jail and was released under the condition that she had to attend alcohol education classes until further notice. This probation was then broken, as from 2007, nine of the alcohol classes have been missed.  Matters then got worse when in May; she was given an alcohol monitoring bracelet and told that she must wear it. On the night of the MTV Movie Awards, the bracelet then sent out an alarm… she had done it again.

On the day of her trial Lindsay turned up to her trial 10 minutes before the start with dad Michael, and Sister Ali, all looking convinced that there would be no charge. Lindsay simply replied to the judges questions with a mere excuse: “I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up,” The star promised that she was not drinking at the night of the MTV Awards and it was agreed by the judge that it would not be taken into consideration when making the decision. Lohan’s excuse for missing the lessons was that she had a ‘busy career’ and that it was ‘too hard to fit it all in.’ These excuses were obviously just not good enough as she was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment and a further 90 day of rehabilitation after her sentence. As she heard the news Lindsay burst in to tears -gasping and sobbing on her lawyers shoulder.

The U.S actress was told that the date in which her sentence starts is the 20th of July and that she must continue wearing the bracelet right up until that date.

Lindsay Lohan became an acting sensation at the age of 11 when staring in ‘The Parent Trap’ an interview with her shortly after the release of the film revealed that Lindsay vowed ‘to stay normal.’ This promise wasn’t exactly kept as she is continuously headlining newspapers with negative news. Has Lindsay’s reputation been completely reunited by this…is it the end?

The style icon was originally thought to be suffering from exhaustion after collapsing at a photo shoot promoting her new single in North London on Saturday. This was thought to be due to her punishing work schedule after split with football fanatic Ashley Cole, back in February. Her schedule since the split has included: filming the new L’Oreal advert, completing her ‘Tour Of Europe’, touring with the Black Eyed Peas and recording the new series of the ‘X-Factor.’ A close friend told the press: “Cheryl hadn’t been feeling herself for about a week (returning on 22 June). She was feeling tired and listless. In the end, this must have been the beginnings of the virus,”

It was the next day at her home in Surrey that Cheryl’s state deteriorated and she became dramatically worse. A friend said: “During Sunday afternoon, Cheryl went downhill quickly. She was sweating and shaking and in a bad way.” She was then sent to hospital where it was confirmed that Cheryl was suffering with malaria.

It has been announced that Cheryl must remain in the private London hospital for several days; however, it may make several weeks for her to fully recover (after already completing a full course of malaria medication.) Under doctor’s orders, all work schedules for the week have been cancelled and further more if she remains unwell. Will Cheryl be well enough to return for the rest of the X-Factor series later on this year? Or will we be faced with a replacement?

Hugh Heffner – This one is not surprising really for a guy in his eighties who is sexually active needing a little helping hand. Hef as he is known as is the founder and editor in chief of Playboy magazine and is always surrounded by his girlfriends and is known to give bowls of Viagra at his famous parties.

Bob Dole – The Republican candidate in the 1996 US Presidential Election is noted for advocating the use of Viagra, he also helped test the anti-impotence pill, appeared in an advertisement sponsored by the makers of the drug and urged people to get help for the problem.

Pele – The Brazilian soccer legend is regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time and is also another user and advocator of Viagra. Pele headed a worldwide ad campaign launched by the Pfizer pharmaceutical company. He has also said, “There are loads of men with erectile problems who don’t see a doctor out of embarrassment, I hope this campaign helps a lot of them.”

Sir Sterling Moss – The former British Racing Driver became a spokesman for an education campaign for Viagra encouraging men to visit their doctor to discuss erectile dysfunction, stating “men worry that admitting they have the problem will reflect on their masculinity, but it has nothing to do with masculinity.”

Michael Douglas – The well known actor and former sex addict has admitted to taking Viagra so he can keep up with his wife Catherine Zeta Jones in the bedroom.

These people grew up in a time when there weren’t really many STD/STI’s and the worse that could happen through having unprotected sex was they would become pregnant, however due to their age pregnancy is no longer a concern so they don’t think there is a need to use protection. Adding to that many old people won’t talk to their doctors about sexual activity because they feel uncomfortable and therefore are not aware of the new risks.

Increased use of online dating websites also means that rather than just sticking to one partner they are meeting more thus as in young people causing an increase in STD/STI’s with multiple partners, unfortunately they are less likely to be tested for and diseases.

The pair met when Julie Turner, 23, discovered she had been adopted as a youngster, and began searching for her biological family. She found that her only living relative was her 73-year-old grandfather Charlie Peterson, and immediately contacted him. The couple exchanged letters, photographs and phone calls before arranging to meet at Peterson’s home in California, to catch up and discuss family history.
However, over the course of their time together, both parties began to develop a strong sexual attraction to one another.

Upon first meeting, Turner describes feeling a “surge of sexual excitement” when hugging her grandfather, and an urge to kiss him. The feelings of attraction continued, leading a confused Turner to research her situation on the internet. Here she uncovered information on GSA, or Genetic Sexual Attraction, where close relatives feel sexually attracted to one another when meeting for the first time as adults.

Online, Turner found many examples of people engaging in sexual relationships with long-lost relatives, and decided to make her Grandfather aware of her feelings. Though confessing to worries about the age gap and being related, Peterson admitted to his own feelings of attraction, and the couple had sex that evening.

Since then, Turner has moved in with her grandfather and found work in the local area. The pair claim to have sex at least four times a week (sometimes with the aid of Viagra) and Turner describes their sex life as “unbelievable”.

Most shockingly though, the couple began to try for a baby and Turner recently fell pregnant. While claiming to be “over the moon”, she admits that she is aware of the possibility of birth defects, and that if this is the case states that “I don’t know if we’ll keep it because it might not be fair on the baby”. Misplaced or otherwise, the pair remain optimistic, and Peterson claims that he has no regrets about getting Julie pregnant. Indeed, he describes himself as “the luckiest man in the world”.

As part of an article for U.S. magazine Men’s Journal the movie star and his publicist Alan Nierob invited Up In The Air author Walter Kirn to join them for a game of cards, before the first hand was dealt Gibson insisted on smearing the goo all over his arms.

Gibson informed Kirn the substance, which is called Selegiline, actually helps to clean “the neurotransmitters,” however Gibson’s publicist does not believe the ointment works because “Gibson’s a ‘loser’ whose losses have helped put the publicist’s kids through college”.

Selegiline is an ointment that is normally used to treat Parkinson’s disease and also to alleviate depression.

Drinkaware has as unveiled touch screens in the centres of London, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham, for people to enter what they have had to drink in the last 24 hours. The charity has said “it believes this will be the largest ever interactive assessment of the nation’s drinking habits, allowing people to compare their drinking with the rest of the nation”.

With more than one in three people intending to go to three or more Christmas parties over the festive season the amount of units estimated may actually be an underestimate.
