Bee Swarm Causes Flight Delay as Delta Pilot Takes Matters into His Own Hands

Story from Jam Press (Bees On Plane) Pictured: The pilot took matters into his own hands and got ready for takeoff with the bees still attached.

A swarm of bees congregated on the wing tip of a Delta flight travelling from Houston, Texas, to Atlanta, Georgia, causing the flight to be delayed for several hours until the bees were removed. Beekeepers were called to the scene but were unsuccessful in removing the bees. The pilot eventually took matters into his own hands and got ready for takeoff with the bees still attached. As soon as the engine was turned on, the bees flew away. Journalist Anjali Enjeti captured the swarm on camera and questioned how they would be removed, wondering whether they would leave the wing when the flight took off.
