The three players from Jestrabi Lhota were sent off by a drunken ref for no reason at all. The ref had to be breathalysed by Police after causing calamity during the game which also included rolling around on the floor quite a lot of the time.

Apparently the ref Tomas Fidra had been celebrating his birthday before the game and reportedly ‘smelt like a brewery’. He spent the first few minutes of the game stumbling around the pitch before deciding to send off three Jestrabi Lhota players for no reason.

After spending much of the early minutes of the match stumbling around the pitch and falling over, the official then decided to send off three Jestrabi Lhota players for no reason.

An official from the Jestrabi Lhota club Karel Dusek told the Lidove Noviny newspaper that the boozed-up referee ‘didn’t try to hide that he had been celebrating’. He said that undercurrent rules there is nothing that bans a drunken referee from taking charge of a fixture which is why the game continued even though one team only had eight players.

In the end the game finished 1-1, the opposition, Tynec-nad-Labem, agreed not to attack their opponents after the bizarre dismissals by the drunken ref.
‘If we had refused to continue to play, we could have been sanctioned,’ Mr Dusek added.

However after all that the regional football authority annulled the game on the basis of fair play. The drunken ref who had a 1.94 per cent alcohol level in his blood is now facing a possible 12-month suspension for his actions.

A greyhound trainer feeds his dogs either Viagra or cannabis to make them win or lose races, a court has found out.

Anthony Gregory Fowler, a 61 year old, told an RSPCA inspector that his greyhound, Jake, would ‘run his head off’ when given the Viagra. Fowler, from Stockton-On-Tees, would also give Jake and other dogs cannabis to slow them so they would be beaten in races, Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court was told.

Folwer wanted to slow the dogs down so that when the odds lengthened, because the dogs were losing, Fowler would place bets on the same greyhound then give it Viagra or a testosterone-based drug to help it run faster and win. Fowler was affecting the odds at, the court was informed yesterday.

John Ellwood, prosecuting for the RSPCA, said police interviewed Fowler in September last year after they had received numerous reports that he had been involved with the selling of cannabis. Fowler denied that he was selling cannabis however, informed the police that he was drugging his dogs! The police then informed the RSPCA.

During the interview he admitted in interview that he fed his greyhounds cannabis when he wanted them to lose races. He did so by boiling the cannabis. He explained how, when he wanted the dog to win the race, he injected it with nandrolone, a testosterone derivative.

Fowler was then interviewed by an RSPCA inspector at a later date, but by this time Jake, the victimised dog, was dead. Fowler explained that the dog had injured its shoulder during one of the races and a vet said fixing the shoulder would be expensive.

Vets explained cannabis could cause convulsions and hallucinations in dogs, whereas Viagra could cause inflammation of the blood vessels.

Fowler had initially denied charges, but has recently changed his plea to guilty for to two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog and two counts of administering drugs to a dog knowing it to be poisonous or injurious. Fowler will be sentenced next Tuesday, after a probation report has been prepared.

Along with this case of Viagra, there have been 8 cases of dogs being found with traces of cocaine in their bodies already this year. Will this mistreating of animals ever come to an end?

Get this, that £10,000 underfloor heating system was actually installed in their kennels – yes, it was for their dogs! Crazy or what? You know you’ve really made it when you can splash out a cool £10k on your pets hi tech heating system.

Ridiculous.

At least their pets will be kept out side and will be warm enough through winter but still have the freedom to run about.

I’m not sure who they bought the underfloor heating systems from, or who suggested it, it might have been Floor Heating Online – but I’m not sure.

Eight people have been killed and twelve people were injured during the California 200 race, when one of the drivers lost control of his 4×4 vehicle and it careered into spectators, the night race is held near Lucerne Valley, 100 miles (160km) from Los Angeles. The driver of the 4×4 has been named as 28-year-old Brett Sloppy, who was reportedly unhurt in the accident, however he had to flee the scene to avoid an angry crowd.

Witnesses who saw the accident unfold said the accident left ‘bodies everywhere’. It was so quick that the victims had no time to save themselves after the truck became airborne and landed upside down on top of some spectators just after the start of the race. One of the witnesses who didn’t want to be named said: “When [the vehicle] came up, it like caught air and flew sideways, and I just saw people started scrambling at that point. As soon as it hit, it rolled right on top and it just hit people and people flew, went in all kinds of directions. People were scattering, people were running and trying to help people.”

Another witness, photographer David Conklin said the car sped over a jump known on the course as “the rockpile” and went out of sight. “I saw one woman with a major head wound lying in a pool of blood. Someone else was crushed beneath the car,” he said.

Because the race is held in such a remote spot it took rescue workers, police and ambulance teams more than half an hour to reach the site, which meant many of the spectators had to tend to the dying and wounded on their own. There were six people killed in the crash and then two more died after being airlifted to hospital as well as another twelve more being treated for their injuries.

The local Police have said that the driver Mr Sloppy would not be charged, Joaquin Zubieta, of the California Highway Patrol, said: “State vehicle laws did not apply because it was a sanctioned racing event held with the approval of the federal Bureau of Land Management.”

It was announced early Sunday morning that the famous football star, Christiano Ronaldo, 25, has become a first time father. The Real Madrid and Portugal player announced at the weekend that he had become a father to a month old baby boy on social networking site ‘Twitter’. The footballer ‘Tweeted’: “It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. No further information will be provided on this subject and I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are.”

As written above, the mother of the baby has remained anonymous, however it is thought that she is American. This information was then later posted on another social networking website, Facebook, and then later confirmed by Ronaldo’s manager. It is also rumored that the paper work allowing the baby to be moved from the US to Portugal is being dealt with by Ronaldo’s family, where the star would have exclusive custody over the child.

Ronaldo’s girlfriend reacted to the news by simply writing “My boyfriend is now father of a boy” upon her Facebook page. Although he refuses to talk any further on the topic, this can’t stop us wondering and questioning just who exactly the mother could be…?

The host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics has enjoyed its warmest January on record, normally this wouldn’t be a problem however the Games opening ceremony is taking place on Friday and organisers are worried about the lack of snow at the venue for freestyle skiing and snowboarding events Cypress Mountain. It’s frustrating enough when you are on your skiing holiday and find unseasonal warm temperatures affecting your snow, even worse when there are thousands of competitors and visitors coming to the area and needing snow.

Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) said it had been making and stockpiling snow near Cypress before the weather turned, and the task now was now to move it to the competition area. “There’s a lot of snow on the mountain, it’s just not in the place we want it. It’s not going to be easy, but we’ll get it done.” said VANOC’s chief executive John Furlong.

The resort of Whistler a popular ski holiday destination has not suffered from the same problem as Cypress Mountain, the venue for Nordic and alpine skiing has plenty of snow. The completion organisers have said that their main priority is to make sure that the completion areas have enough snow and are not worrying that the surrounding area is not covered with snow.

Plane forced to make emergency landing as English football fans cause ruckus on a flight to Germany.

On the flight from Manchester two “extremely drunk” football fans began throwing punches at each other, cabin crew was called to restrain the pair but they were unable to. According to Franz Winkler, from the police department in Frankfurt, “The captain wanted to avoid a further escalation and endangerment to the aircraft so put down in Frankfurt.”

The pair were part of a group of 12 who had travelled to see Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 play at the weekend, the remainder of the group were permitted to continue their journey. One of the men was told he would face charges. Easy Jet confirmed that the trouble on board did not place any passenger at risk, that the captain had acted entirely properly and that “no such arguments between passengers would be tolerated on flights.”

Olympic cyclist Robert Kiserlovski has been fined by police in Croatia for delaying traffic during his training in Bakrac. The London 2012 medal hopeful was pulled over with his training partner, Bojan Rafaj and given a 500 Croatian Kuna fine (around£60) for pedalling too slow.

The police stated that the pair had been holding up the traffic because cars could not overtake them and they should of been riding faster.

Disgruntled by the fine, Kiserlovski and Rafaj deny the charges, instead telling the court that their average speed was over 20mph.

Mr Kiserlovski said, “We were going faster than most of the cars on the road,” adding that: “This is the third time the police have pulled me over.”

The Croatian police have refused to comment about the incident.

US sports fans got more than they bargained for when they sat down to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday. Viewers in Arizona were shocked when TV coverage of the game was interrupted by a pornographic video clip.

Comcast, a Philadelphia based Cable Company, whose viewers saw the pornographic material has issued an apology, and has started a full investigation. Comcast’s corporate communications vice president Jennifer Khoury said: “Our initial investigation suggests this was an isolated malicious act”.

And added that: “We did an extensive preliminary check on our technical systems, and everything appeared to be working properly when the incident occurred”.

The clip interrupted regular coverage of the Super Bowl seconds after the last touchdown of the match by the Arizona Cardinals, and showed a woman unzipping a man’s trousers and performing sexual acts on him.

It is still not known how the TV signal was interrupted.

The Pittsburgh Steelers won the match 27 – 23, beating the Arizona Cardinals, and earning their sixth Super Bowl win.
