Dog abuser found through internet
A young man who threw a dog of a bridge yesterday was caught after hundreds of disgusted viewers joined forces in helping track him down. The footage filmed on mobile phones which showed 22 year old Lithuanian Svajunas Beniuk calmly wait until there were no passing cars throw the dog over bridge railings into an empty ravine, with his friends stood around laughing while the dog was lying on the ground yelping in pain.
The video was posted online where his friend joked “dogs can fly” was seen by angry animal lovers who set up groups on facebook determined not to let the man go unpunished so people set about tracking him down. Once people realised that the dog had been dropped from a bridge in Kaunas in a district called Vilkija local news stations ran the story, where he was recognised by police officers, the subject who was named in reports later handed himself into police.
The dog who is recovering in the care of vet’s is doing well despite the serious injuries caused by the fall, Police thank everyone in a statement issued for the help in bringing Beniuk to justice, who is now facing animal cruelty charges.
