Empire Direct Go into Administration

Another one bites the dust Empire Direct Plc, Empire Direct Plc went into administration on the 19th of January.
When you visit www.empiredirect .co.uk you just get a message from the administrators KPMG LLP stating that the business that was Empire Direct is unable to trade in the current state of administration due to low stock levels and making a loss on sales.

This is a massive blow as it was only a few weeks ago when Miller Brothers where into the same situation but they still have their store in Doncaster open.
There is a customer line for Empire Direct customers who have ordered products from them 08714 729000.
Who will be the next big company to disappear the DSG group which own currys and the likes of PC World.
Since Empire Direct was a Big brand will they be saved and brought back or will they just be forgotten about.

  • I bought my LCD TV from their Wetherby Store last january. I was really impressed with all the deals they had on and how helpful the staff where. A big hole will be left now in the marketplace

  • I ordered a Toshiba TV from Empire Direct 2 weeks a go and I havent received it. I spoke to my credit card company on Tuesday and they told me that I will get my money back. I have since reorderd the TV from www.digitaldirect.co.uk and they delivered the same TV to me on Friday. Despite being annoyed about the hastle of having to go and order elsewhere I am disappointed that Empire Direct have gone bust because I have been buying from them for about 5 years.
