Harry Potter star Jamie Waylett has been arrested for possession and growing cannabis, a police statement has said. Waylett, who plays bully Vincent Crabbe in the hugely successful Harry Potter films, was first arrested in April, when police pulled over his car in central London and found 8 bags of the Class B drug Cannabis.
Mr Waylett (19) and a 19 year old friend were taken into custody at a local police station for questioning. The police later raided his mother’s house in Camden, allegedly finding further drugs at the house.
Police seized ten cannabis plants at the house, which were growing in the teenager’s bedroom.
Waylett was bailed by police until yesterday, when he found out that he will be charged. A police spokeswoman confirmed: “Jamie Waylett is due to appear at City of Westminster magistrate’s court later this month.
Adding that, “He is charged with producing a Class B drug, namely ten plants of cannabis.”
According to the Home Office, cannabis production carries a maximum punishment of 14 years and possession of a Class B drug can expect a sentence of up to 5 years.
