Joan Collins admits to buying her clothes from Primark

Former Dynasty star Joan Collins, 76, has admitted that she now shops at Primark because of the credit crunch and global recession. The TV star famed for her designer outfits, found the cut-price clothing store after she realised that she could no longer afford the designer price tags.

The actress said: “I have to cut back on spending – I’m afraid I’m no different from anyone else in that respect”.

Adding that, “I recently had my first sojourn into Primark and I loved it. I found three sweaters for £11 – fantastic!”

Talking about designer clothes, Mrs Collins said: “I can’t afford couture clothes. I don’t know who can. I wouldn’t dream of spending £3,000 on a jacket.”

Although you probably won’t see Joan Collins in the queue at a Primark near you soon, it’s nice to see that even famous people are having to watch the pennies during the recession.
