Actress Lindsay Lohan, 24 was arrested in 2007 for drink driving offence. The star spent a diminutive 84 minutes in jail and was released under the condition that she had to attend alcohol education classes until further notice. This probation was then broken, as from 2007, nine of the alcohol classes have been missed.  Matters then got worse when in May; she was given an alcohol monitoring bracelet and told that she must wear it. On the night of the MTV Movie Awards, the bracelet then sent out an alarm… she had done it again.

On the day of her trial Lindsay turned up to her trial 10 minutes before the start with dad Michael, and Sister Ali, all looking convinced that there would be no charge. Lindsay simply replied to the judges questions with a mere excuse: “I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up,” The star promised that she was not drinking at the night of the MTV Awards and it was agreed by the judge that it would not be taken into consideration when making the decision. Lohan’s excuse for missing the lessons was that she had a ‘busy career’ and that it was ‘too hard to fit it all in.’ These excuses were obviously just not good enough as she was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment and a further 90 day of rehabilitation after her sentence. As she heard the news Lindsay burst in to tears -gasping and sobbing on her lawyers shoulder.

The U.S actress was told that the date in which her sentence starts is the 20th of July and that she must continue wearing the bracelet right up until that date.

Lindsay Lohan became an acting sensation at the age of 11 when staring in ‘The Parent Trap’ an interview with her shortly after the release of the film revealed that Lindsay vowed ‘to stay normal.’ This promise wasn’t exactly kept as she is continuously headlining newspapers with negative news. Has Lindsay’s reputation been completely reunited by this…is it the end?

As part of an article for U.S. magazine Men’s Journal the movie star and his publicist Alan Nierob invited Up In The Air author Walter Kirn to join them for a game of cards, before the first hand was dealt Gibson insisted on smearing the goo all over his arms.

Gibson informed Kirn the substance, which is called Selegiline, actually helps to clean “the neurotransmitters,” however Gibson’s publicist does not believe the ointment works because “Gibson’s a ‘loser’ whose losses have helped put the publicist’s kids through college”.

Selegiline is an ointment that is normally used to treat Parkinson’s disease and also to alleviate depression.

Next year will also see its sister ship the Allure of the Seas coming into commission that will also be built to the same size and same high standards.

The actress said: “I have to cut back on spending – I’m afraid I’m no different from anyone else in that respect”.

Adding that, “I recently had my first sojourn into Primark and I loved it. I found three sweaters for £11 – fantastic!”

Talking about designer clothes, Mrs Collins said: “I can’t afford couture clothes. I don’t know who can. I wouldn’t dream of spending £3,000 on a jacket.”

Although you probably won’t see Joan Collins in the queue at a Primark near you soon, it’s nice to see that even famous people are having to watch the pennies during the recession.

Mr Poncher, who died nearly 23 years ago was a successful business man and his dying wish was to be buried face down on top of the Hollywood actress Monroe, situated at the exclusive Westwood Village cemetery in LA.

Mrs Poncher is hoping to raise enough money to pay off the mortgage on her $1.6 million Beverly Hills house, saying that: “I want to leave it free and clear for my kids.”

Mr Poncher’s remains will be moved into the burial plot intended for Mrs Pouncher after the auction has finished; Mrs Poucher says she will be cremated when the time comes.

Shop manager Julia Deane told the press that, “He comes to the cafe next door because he’s filming nearby.”

She added that when Mr Crowe entered the shop, the assistant, “didn’t recognise him. He asked if we took donations and she told him that we do in the back of the shop”.

The assistant only realised who it was, when he wrote his name in the donations book.

The £110 million remake of Robin Hood is directed by Ridley Scott and also stars Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian; it is being filmed near Virginia Water in Surrey. The film is due for release in 2010.
