Wife caught attempting to sneak husband out of jail, hiding him in a suitcase

Maria del Mar Arjona was caught seeking to smuggle her husband out of jail on Monday.

Juan Ramirez Tijerina, a Mexican prisoner-charged with possession of illegal weapons, conceived it to be a good idea crawling into his partner’s suitcase when she came to visit him and planning on escaping from prison.

The plan was thought to be ‘bullet proof’ until one of the guards observed his girlfriend ‘suspiciously’ dragging the suitcase towards the exit.
Guards unpacked the bag to discover the dangerous inmate, serving a 20 year prison sentence, curled up in the foetal position within the case.

The criminal’s partner has now been arrested and she is awaiting her charges.

Mexican prisoners are well known for their harsh conditions. After the head warden was seriously stabbed during a routine inspection this year. The female guard was stabbed 14 times. An officer, who did not want to be named, said that the facility is now on “lock down” and that guards are “beating random prisoners.”
