House prices in London continue to fall, even as rents in the capital (and beyond) rise again.
The average property price in the capital dropped by 3.3% year on year in July, the eleventh consecutive decline and the lowest annual rate since January 2024.
The Office for National Statistics said "Inner London particularly affected" and that the average house price in London now stands at £569,000, which is £19,000 below the recent peak in July 2025.
Across England, the average house price was £293,000 in July, up 1.1% (£3,000) from a year earlier, according to the ONS.
