Julian Alvarez had been Arsenal's dream signing for weeks. Malick Fofana emerged as an alternative, but the Gunners decided against signing the Frenchman, who will instead join Sunderland. Gabriel Jesus left for Barcelona. Manchester United still need a new left-back and were actively pursuing one in the final hours, but the clock was ticking on a late move.
Enzo Fernandez completed a blockbuster move from Chelsea to Manchester City in a deal worth around £125m, but Lamine Camara will not be replacing the Argentine at Stamford Bridge after a late twist. Manchester City also wrapped up the signing of Iliman Ndiaye from under the noses of Tottenham. Spurs responded by making a move to sign Mykhailo Mudryk on loan from Chelsea, in a shock double swoop that saw Tosin Adarabioyo join on a permanent deal as Kevin Danso leaves. Richarlison's future remains in doubt amid talks over a return to Everton.
Fulham confirmed the Deadline Day signings of Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Larsson, Real Madrid's Manuel Angel, and Elche's David Affengruber. After tasting defeat in both of his first two Premier League outings, Arbeloa has once again gone shopping at Valdebebas, this time coming back with 22-year-old midfielder Angel. The Spaniard has signed a three-year deal with an option for a further 12 months. Arbeloa named him captain of his Real Madrid Castilla side, and later handed him his first-team debut after both men were promoted mid-season. He joins as one half of a midfield overhaul, with 12-cap Sweden international Larsson completing the new arrivals. Standard Sport understands Larsson has joined up on an initial one-year loan, which will be made permanent for £18.3m. The club have confirmed he will sign a long-term deal. The 25-year-old centre-back Affengruber, meanwhile, has touched down in west London and signed a four-year contract with a club option for a further 12 months. Fulham spent £8.5m to secure his services.

Manchester United moved to sign Leicester's Louis Page on Deadline Day, but talks fell through as they failed to agree a fee with the Foxes. Per reports in The Athletic, the 18-year-old could have cost United as much as £15m, but they could not find common ground with Leicester. It ended up being a quiet Deadline Day for United, who added no fresh faces to Michael Carrick's squad.
Chelsea cannot revive the Lamine Camara deal, writes Dom Smith. News that Folarin Balogun has walked away from his move to Everton at the last minute had reignited faith for some Chelsea fans that the Camara deal could be resurrected because Monaco are under pressure to sell. They had walked away from a written email agreement to sell Camara to Chelsea for £47m once the Balogun deal looked set to go through. But even though Balogun has walked away, Chelsea will not be getting their man this summer because Monaco refused to sign a Premier League deal sheet. It is over for Chelsea's summer pursuit of Camara.
