Patrick Gerber will join McDonald’s US senior leadership team.

Patrick Gerber, McDonald’s chief restaurant officer for the UK & Ireland, is leaving the business to take a place on the fast food chain’s US senior leadership team.

Gerber was appointed to the UK & Ireland chief restaurant officer role in September 2025. He brought more than 25 years of experience at McDonald’s to the position, having started his career with the company in 1999 as a crew member in Switzerland.

He will join the US senior leadership team as chief restaurant officer on 1 September. The UK & Ireland business will announce his successor in the coming weeks.

“Patrick has made a huge contribution during his time with McDonald’s UK & Ireland,” McDonald’s UK & Ireland CEO Lauren Schultz said. “Through his leadership, he has helped strengthen our operations, support our franchisees and foster a culture that enables us to deliver great experiences for customers every day.

“Patrick brought a deep understanding of our business and a strong commitment to operational excellence, and has helped develop talented teams across the business.

“We are grateful for everything he has contributed to the UK & Ireland market and, while we are sorry to see him leave the business, we are pleased to see him take on this new opportunity within McDonald’s. We wish him every success in his new role as chief restaurant officer for the US market.”

It follows the appointment of Tim Kenward to the McDonald’s UK & Ireland senior leadership team in May, as chief marketing officer.

Kenward, who oversees all aspects of the marketing function, brings more than 15 years of end-to-end marketing experience across the McDonald’s system to the role.
