An investigation has been launched after a County Durham cricket club was broken into by multiple intruders overnight.
Police were called just after 11.35pm on Saturday, August 15, following reports that people had forced their way into Sedgefield Cricket Club on Station Road.
Officers attended on an immediate response, but the suspects had fled before they arrived.
It is not believed anything was stolen during the break-in, but damage was caused to the building.

Police are now reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to potential witnesses as their investigation continues.
