Top 20 Celebrity Mullets of All Time – Including Rod Stewart and Ziggy Stardust

According to research, people with mullets have more fun than those without, enjoying more nights out, spicier food, and a better wardrobe. A study of 2,000 adults, including 500 individuals sporting a mullet, found that those with the iconic ‘party at the back’ hairstyle have an average of five nights out per month, while non-mulleted individuals lag behind with an average of only three.

The research revealed that mulleted individuals embrace their free-spirited nature, mischievousness, and penchant for doing the unexpected. In contrast, those with more conventional haircuts were less likely to consider themselves fashion-followers, with only seven percent aiming to make an impression when they go out.

Foxy Bingo, which commissioned the research, has launched a ‘mullet-only salon’ in Newcastle and stated, “It’s no surprise to us that those with mullets are having more fun. There’s a real mullet movement happening as people get more experimental with their styles. We’re also on the hunt to find the UK’s ‘foxiest’ mullet, offering mullet-goers the chance to win a gift card worth £2,023.”

The study also found that mulleted individuals in the UK are more inclined to prefer spicy food, are less likely to play traditional games like Monopoly, and are twice as likely to suggest a saucy game of truth or dare. They also consider themselves more influential in their friend groups compared to those with conventional hairstyles (66 percent vs. 37 percent). Additionally, mulleted individuals socialize more frequently with colleagues.

In terms of celebrity mullets, Rod Stewart’s blow-dried masterpiece was voted the best of all time, narrowly surpassing David Bowie’s iconic red locks as Ziggy Stardust. Bowie and ’80s icon Pat Sharp tied for second place, followed by Patrick Swayze, Chris Waddle, and Jason Donovan. Other notable celebrity mullets included Michael Bolton, Hulk Hogan, and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, father of pop star Miley Cyrus, who has also sported the distinctive hairstyle.

The study also revealed that half of the respondents rarely change their hairstyle, and 22 percent believe they have become more conservative with their hair as they age. However, 21 percent of the participants felt that their hair defines their personality, and 22 percent believed that a hairstyle change can make them feel like a whole different person.

Foxy Bingo’s spokesperson added, “It seems there are even more benefits to having a mullet nowadays.” The Dirty Gertie’s Mullet Salon by Foxy Bingo will be open in the heart of Newcastle for one weekend only, on the 4th and 5th of March, with Geordie Queen Vicky Pattison leading the way. For those unable to visit the salon, they can share a picture of their own mullet using the hashtag #FOXYMULLET and tagging @foxybingo on Instagram or Twitter.
