Limited Places Remain at Bournemouth’s Most Successful Prep School

Bournemouth’s leading independent prep school, Park School, established in 1928 and situated just a mile from the coast, has received a spike in enquiries following its recent excellent inspection result – and now limited spaces remain for September 2023 admission.

Park School is part of the Forfar Education Group, which owns and manages a network of outstanding education establishments across the UK, with a leadership team that brings more than 80 years of experience in the education sector.

As parents make important decisions following National Offer Day for primary schools, with many having started the appeals process, Park School has received lots of calls from parents enquiring if the school has spaces left for their little ones.

The leading Bournemouth prep school is run by Headmistress Melanie Dowler, a mum-of-two teacher who taught year five at the school before becoming Headmistress.

Melanie said: “I am really delighted to see the influx of interest we are receiving for our September 2023 cohort. This is an exciting time of year as we prepare for our new students to join us. At Park School we are focused on providing a welcoming and well-rounded education to every child, ensuring we continue to offer the outstanding academic excellence we are known for, while also ensuring children are prepared for the demands of secondary education. Our recent excellent inspection result is a shining beacon for all that we achieve as a school family.

“We now have limited spaces remaining for our September 2023 Reception class, meaning it’s only a matter of time before we establish our waiting list as we have had so much interest in our 1-2-1 school tours and we’ve also seen a number of families returning to us with their younger children.”

Forfar was established in 2016 by former army officer John Forsyth, who instils a love of learning across the group’s schools. Forfar is known for putting children’s enjoyment of education at the heart of learning, from the moment they step foot through the door to the last lesson of the day.

John said: “Park School prepares children for the most prestigious secondary and grammar schools in the region, offering a personalised education with small class sizes and highly experienced staff. Recently achieving a position among the UK top 30 of the Times – best UK schools guide, the leading prep school continues to ensure it remains committed to the continued improvement of its excellent teaching, curriculum and pupil experience. We’re thrilled to see the school receiving so much interest from both new and returning families.”

Melanie added: “As state school offers were received and, in some cases, rejected and appeals begun, we would like to ensure parents know there is always another option for their child’s education. Our independent prep school experience provides each child with the support and care they require to flourish both academically and practically and our small class sizes and small pupil to teacher ratios guarantee a personalised education experience.

“Alongside our outstanding rated academic offering, we also integrate a very diverse outdoor learning curriculum, with the recent addition of our Beach School, as children learn the importance of caring for our environment and expanding their soft skills set.”
