Tottenham have offered Mykhailo Mudryk a route back into the Premier League, signing the winger on loan from Chelsea just before the deadline and urging him to rebuild his career.
Mudryk became a €100m (£89m) player when Chelsea took him from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023; the fee was made up of an initial €70m plus €30m in add-ons. Chelsea beat Arsenal to his signature when the Ukrainian was among the most sought-after players in Europe.
The move to Chelsea did not work out, and Mudryk hit a low point when he was banned after an adverse reading for the banned substance meldonium, which can increase respiratory capacity and stamina. His last competitive game for Chelsea was on 28 November 2024.
Mudryk was suspended before the Football Association handed him a four-year ban. However, after an appeal to the court of arbitration for sport, he resolved his case with the FA at the end of July and was cleared for an immediate return to playing.
