Asda’s clothing range, George, has been mocked for its Coronation dresses that resemble Geri Halliwell’s iconic Union Jack dress. The supermarket’s range is selling two dresses with the British flag design. The ‘Midi sundress’ is priced at £16 and has adjustable thin straps, a V-neckline, and features a faded Union Jack design. The ‘Floral Coronation Flag Wrap Front Midi Dress’ is selling for £18. As part of their children’s range, they also offer a matching dress for little girls. George is selling the dresses to commemorate the upcoming coronation of King Charles III on May 6.

However, some fashion fans are not impressed with the outfits. James Kavanagh described it as “very Geri Halliwell aged 60 in Benidorm”. Another shopper commented that the dresses are “Met Gala worthy”. Some shoppers joked about bringing out their Geri Halliwell for Next dress circa Olympics 2000. Another shopper, named Kate, said that she “nearly died” after seeing the T-shirts they had for kids. Patrick Saint James joked that the dresses gave off “2011 Jessie J” vibes.

One fashionista named Morgan has confidence in the dress, stating “I could make it work.” Spice Girl Geri, who is now 50, famously wore a Union Jack dress to the 1997 Brit Awards. Asda has not yet provided any comment regarding the public’s reactions to the Coronation dresses.
