A recent poll of 2,000 adults has unveiled the top 20 goals currently set by UK adults. The study found that 67 percent of respondents have pledged to make some sort of change in their lives in the coming months, with goals ranging from small-scale aspirations like reading more books to more significant objectives like finding a new job.
Despite this, 64 percent of those surveyed believe that there is a tendency to set overly serious goals, and they believe that greater emphasis should be placed on having fun. In response to this, 888 Online Casino, which commissioned the research, has introduced a randomised fun generator that assigns participants completely wacky goals for 2023.
The research, conducted by OnePoll, also revealed that the majority of adults (59 percent) have previously set goals for themselves. Among those who have done so, 33 percent typically write a list of self-improvement areas and select one goal to focus on. However, the study found that only three out of 10 goals set are actually achieved.
Despite the relatively low success rate, 46 percent of respondents remain optimistic about achieving their goals in the next 10 months. Encouragingly, 28 percent of participants reported that setting goals in the past has led to permanent positive changes in their lives.
The top 20 current goals among UK adults, as identified in the survey, include exercising more, losing weight, saving more money or spending less, drinking more water, prioritizing wellness and well-being, reducing stress, traveling more, maintaining a less cluttered home, spending more time with family and friends, being less wasteful, reading more (books, articles, etc.), staying on top of health issues, living life to the fullest, getting more rest and establishing a reasonable sleep schedule, reducing alcohol consumption, maintaining better communication with friends and family, cooking more, staying organized with life admin, being more environmentally friendly, and spending less time on social media.
The survey results highlight the current aspirations and priorities of UK adults, with health, financial stability, personal growth, and connection with loved ones featuring prominently. While achieving goals can be challenging, maintaining an optimistic mindset and taking small steps towards positive change can lead to lasting transformations in various aspects of life.
