Drinking beer? Great. Drinking beer that supports LGBTQ people and gives money to charity? Even better. That’s why BrewDog is partnering with LGBTQ charity MindOut to help raise awareness of its mental health services and provide access and support to staff and customers.

MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer people with experience of mental health challenges. The Brighton-based charity offers members a safe space to discuss their concerns with professionally trained representatives, or with others in the community, both in-person and across the world through its online support services.

BrewDog is dedicated to creating and fostering an open and inclusive culture for all employees, managed through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Forum. Founded in 2021, the forum works to attract a diverse range of people to work at BrewDog and create an inclusive environment as soon as they start. From regular training, to providing pronoun pin badges for crew to wear; BrewDog is committed to learning and developing until every employee and customer feels welcome, safe and included in its spaces.

BrewDog’s forum was able to bring together LGBTQ employees with MindOut representatives for a round-table discussion hosted at BrewDog Brighton, to openly discuss the joy and challenges of being part of the community. The full discussion can be found HERE

Raising a glass to the partnership, BrewDog is also launching a 4.5% guava-infused Pride lager, available online, in BrewDog bars and exclusively at Tesco. With 50p from each sale going directly to the charity, BrewDog is also offering 100% of profits from the sales of pronoun pin-badges and Pride t-shirts to further support MindOut’s mission to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities.

Lauren Carrol, Chief Marketing Officer at BrewDog, said: “We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to making BrewDog a great place to work, and to support LGBTQ communities that many of our employees and customers are a part of.

“Through our partnership with MindOut, we are delighted to support the fantastic work they do in Brighton and beyond. We take inspiration from the work they do as we continue to evolve and develop our DE&I policies to make sure every BrewDog employee and customer feels welcome, safe, and included in our spaces all year round.”

Erica Thornton, Interim CEO at MindOut, said: “We are thrilled BrewDog has chosen to support MindOut LGBTQ Mental Health Service. We work hard to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities and it’s been wonderful hearing more from the LGBTQ staff at BrewDog as part of our partnership.

“The generous donations from BrewDog will help to fund these hugely important chat services, and continue our work creating a world where the mental health of LGBTQ communities is a priority, free from stigma, respected and recognised.”

The Pride beer is available now available from BrewDog.com, in BrewDog bars, and in-store exclusively at Tesco. For more information, please visit www.brewdog.com/uk/pride
