Marcus Rashford says he wants to play football without his "name being mentioned every day" after Gary Neville tried to start a conversation about him on a podcast.
Rashford replied to a clip of the Stick to Football podcast in which Jamie Carragher expressed frustration when former United defender Neville asked for thoughts on Rashford.
"Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford?" Carragher said.
"Stop it. Oh my God. It's like the Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Rashford… like a little part of the podcast. The Trent part or the Rashford part."
Rashford replied to the clip in a post on X, saying: "Thanks, Jamie. It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day."
The 28-year-old looks set to stay at United after spending last season on loan at Barcelona, with whom he won the La Liga title.
His last competitive appearance for United came under former manager Ruben Amorim in December 2024, but he could feature in their Premier League opener against Hull on Saturday.
After United's 4-2 friendly defeat by AC Milan on Saturday, defender Harry Maguire said he hoped Rashford would stay at Old Trafford because he is a "big asset" and a "huge threat".
