Dundee United’s Academy has welcomed its latest group of young professionals at the start of the campaign, with six players moving into full-time football through the club’s youth pathway.
The intake includes players who have come through the Academy’s children’s and youth phases, along with players recruited from other clubs. All six are set to play an important role in the Under-19 squad and KDM Cup campaign this season.
Several of the group have already gained experience around the first team environment, with involvement during pre-season and the Premier Sports Cup highlighting the opportunities available to the Academy’s young players.
Brodie has progressed through the Academy’s children’s and youth phases and now joins the club on a full-time basis for the 2026/27 season.
Last season, Brodie combined his education with his football development, representing the club at Under-19 level and in the KDM Cup, in addition to featuring for the Under-17s. His performances were rewarded with his first professional contract this summer.
Max is a central midfielder from Stirling who has progressed through the Academy’s children’s and youth phases. He was also part of the Academy Performance School programme and now takes the next step in his development.
Cohen joined the Academy from Aberdeen in the summer of 2025 and made an immediate impression during his first season with the club.
He featured regularly for the Under-17s, while also gaining experience with the Under-19s and in the KDM Cup campaign. Cohen was involved with the first-team squad during pre-season and has already made an early impact this season, making his competitive debut and featuring during the Premier Sports Cup campaign.
Cian was another player recruited to the Academy in 2025 and impressed during his first season at the club with a series of strong performances at left-back.
He was part of the Under-17 side which won the Club Academy Scotland League Cup in May and has now progressed into the full-time programme, joining the club on a full-time basis this summer.
Emil joined the club’s full-time programme in October and now enters his second season as a full-time player with the Academy.
An energetic midfielder, Emil featured regularly for the Under-19s last season and also gained valuable experience around the first-team environment, spending part of pre-season training with the senior squad.
Kuba joined the club on a full-time basis in October and now extends his stay for a further season.
The goalkeeper featured regularly for the Under-19s last season and also played in the KDM Cup. He will be expected to play an important role within the Under-19 squad again this season as he continues his development.
Academy Director, Scott Allison, said: “We are delighted to welcome the new intake of young professionals for the 2026/27 season.
"The boys will all be a key part of our under-19s squad for the season ahead and will also feature in the KDM Cup campaign.
"Some have already been involved with the first team squad through pre-season training, and during the Premier Sports Cup campaign, it’s been an excellent start to the season for the group.
"There will be a lot of hard work and challenges ahead for the boys, but we hope they embrace this and make the most of the opportunities that are in front of them in the season ahead."
