Sir Richard Branson is literally waiting at the wings as BAA is now selling the infamous Gatwick Airport. Virgin Atlantic would jump at the chance to acquire BAA. The present economic climate could mean bad news for major airlines but with Branson’s business acumen behind a project anything could be possible.
Whilst many worry about the cost of flights rising more people are taking the option to go on cruise holidays instead.
BAA is Spanish owned and is said to have put the sale process for the airport into action already. Virgin is confident that it would provide a more efficient level of expertise especially in customer service and the main running of the airport.
Virgin will of course not be alone in their bidding for Gatwick with others such as Germany’s Hochtief thought to be in the line up.
