Inter Milan are closing in on Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones in a deal worth 35m euros (£30m).
In June, Liverpool rejected a verbal offer of 25m euros (£21.7m) from the Italian champions. Liverpool value the 25-year-old, who has one year left on his contract, at about £35m.
It is now understood that a £30m deal will likely see the clubs reach an agreement. Sources in Italy believe a verbal agreement is in place, but both clubs say further details need discussion.
Liverpool are open to selling Jones and want a package in line with the £30m Inter paid Tottenham for Djed Spence.
The Serie A side also tried to sign Jones in January, proposing a loan with a view to a transfer, but Liverpool turned that down.
Jones has made 228 appearances for Liverpool since making his debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2019. Last season, he played 49 times in all competitions but made only 18 starts in the Premier League and struggled to secure a regular midfield spot under Arne Slot.
Jones joined Liverpool's academy at the age of nine. He is understood to be keen on pursuing a new challenge and would become the third English player to join Inter this summer, after John Stones and Spence.
